Hi, ladies! It's been a while. I have been very busy this month, but anyways I'm back with a review and comparison about Nair and Veet. Both are hair removal cream products which I have been using this year. The ones that I will be talking about are Nair Pretty in soft raspberry and Veet in lotus milk and jasmine for normal skin. I purchased them at Watsons. I forgot the exact price, but Nair (150ml) is around IDR 80.000 whereas Veet (60g) is only around IDR 25.000.
Veet comes in three variants which are for dry skin, normal skin, and sensitive skin. The instruction booklet and the green spatula which come with the packaging are very useful. I have the normal skin version, and it smells like a toothpaste, kind of refreshing. To apply this product, you just have to squeeze the tube and spread the cream on the green spatula. After that, spread the cream thickly on your underarms using the spatula. Do not rub it. You have to be careful because it can be messy. Make sure all the hair on your underarms are covered with the cream. After 3 minutes, you can remove the cream using the spatula. It's just like shaving. Remember, do not exceed 6 minutes, unless you want to get burned. lol Well in fact, I got burned several times using this :s Lastly, rinse your underarms with water. Do not rub too hard.
What I like from Veet is that it works really fast. It only needs 3 minutes. However, it leaves prominent stubble, and I hate stubble. If I leave it longer, not exceeding 6 minutes, my skin gets burned. How annoying! Another thing is that the refreshing smell starts to change into an unpleasant and disgusting smell after several months. Veet gives a warning that the product expires after 24 months since the date of production. Mine is March 2011, so it should be expired in March 2013. But the smell has changed since three months ago, so I can never use it anymore. I really can't stand the disgusting odor it produces. It makes me want to throw up :(
Overall, I am quite pleased with Nair and quite disappointed with Veet. I will only repurchase Nair because it suits my skin better than Veet. Remember that we have different skin, so what works for me does not always work for you and the other way around :)
Well then this is the end of the post. I hope it helps. See ya and stay pretty!
